About a two years ago, I accidentally bumped into a whole bunch of people that were as dissatisfied with the inflexibility and drabness of the Windows shell as I was. I started playing with LiteStep and quickly fell in love with the whole concept of playing with different shells.

On this page, you will find sections for various shells as well as themes, skins and other useful doodads.

Other Nifty Shells

IceSphere

In my humble opinion, this is the most promising of the new breed of shells.  Highly customizable with an interesting script approach to the UI.

Reveal

Probably the most customizable (and complex) shells going. Give this one a whirl and you'll wonder why you used Windoze as long as you did.

Reveal Design Warehouse
A great resource for Reveal-related themes and utilities

DarkStep

A new shell by one of the LiteStep originators.  Attempting to reach the breadth of LiteStep with a smaller resource footprint

geoShell

Another interesting new shell concept. Lots and lots of toolbars. Seems to have some stability issues, but well worth a look see!
